Billy Carol Burden

Billy Carol Burden, age 57, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 30, 1954 in Mclean County to the late Forest and Geneva Burden.
Aside from his loving parents Billy is preceded in death by three brothers; Eugene " Gene" Burden, Gerald "Boots" Burden and Mervin Burden, and two sisters; Wilma Burden-Williams and Ruth Burden- Patterson.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years; Barbara ( Bobbi) Jane Vanover- Burden, two sons; Jason Burden of Owensboro, and Drew Knight and his fiance Jessica Jennings of Owensboro, 3 brothers; Jack Burden of Livermore, KY, Richard Burden and wife Carol of MerRouge, LA, Leslie Burden and wife Marcella of Livermore, KY, and two sisters; Doris Burden- Evans of Calhoun, KY and Margie Burden- Haney and husband Mike of Whitesville, KY. He also leaves behind three grandchildren; Kaxton Knight, Jacquelyn Jennings and Edie Jennings along with numerous nieces, nephews and caring friends.
The main priority in Billy's life was his family, he was a caring husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed. He provided for his family by working as a production manager at Big Rivers Electric Corporation for 38 years. He and his family were members of Promiseland Church in McLean County. In his free time Billy enjoyed watching UK Basketball with his sons, bowling and golfing.
The family would like to extend a special thanks those who cared for Billy during his illness. A special thank you to Dr. Hofer, Dr. Eggers, Dr. Maheshwari, Target Pharmacy, Hospice of Western Kentucky and Big Rivers Electric.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00P.M. on Monday, August 6, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Fred Fisher of Promiseland Church will be officiating services. Interment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home on Sunday and after 10:00AM on Monday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society with a special emphasis on the study of brain tumors.
