Billy Ray Bivens

October 25, 1933 — February 24, 2004

Billy Ray Bivens 70 of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died there Tuesday. A native of Muhlenberg County, he was a former owner of Bivens Builders, and a former executive director of St. James Place retirement community. He had a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion, and was a member of the Assembly of God faith. Enjoyed riding his bicycle, and working odd jobs.

He is survived by his son, Peter L. Bivens and wife Donna of Louisville, Ky., daughter, Jill Kennedy and husband Larry of Newburg, Indiana, his stepmother, Elsie Bivens of Owensboro, his former wife of 39 years, Janet Bivens of Louisville, brothers Harold Dean Bivens and wife Carol and Bobby Bivens, and sister, Virginia DeArmond, all of Owensboro, grandchildren, JaLyn McClure and husband, Brian, Rachael Bivens, Stacia Bivens, Meagon Kennedy and Michelle Kennedy, numerous nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Calvary Temple Assembly of God.
