Bhaskar "Bob" Haribhai Desai

Bhaskar "Bob" Haribhai Desai, 66, of Owensboro passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, surrounded by family and friends at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Bhaskar was born on November 3, 1951, to the late Haribhai and Savitaben Desai.
Bhaskar graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1972 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He used his educational background to start a career as a successful serial entrepreneur. Over his time, he built and ran several successful businesses.
Bhaskar was a partner in Green River Motel Management and has served on Intercontinental Hotel Groups Owners Council.
Bhaskar has been a long-time board member of Owensboro Human Relations Commission, active community leader in organizing relief efforts for local and international disasters. He was an active member of Cultural Society of India and played a key role in planning and major expansion of Tri State Hindu Temple.
Bhaskar was a huge supporter of Gujarat Samaj of Tri State and we will miss his generosity, his big heart and caring nature.
He is survived by his mother, Savitaben Desai, wife, Minaxi Desai, brother, Bharat (Nirmala) Desai of Lexington, KY, sister, Usha (Kirti) Naik of Bean Station, TN, brother, Nilesh (Hina) Desai of Sugar Land, TX as well as his nephews and nieces, Hiren (Hima) Desai, Pareen (Krunal) Dave, Aimee Desai, Sameep Naik, Meghan Desai, and Ravi Desai, and several great nephews and nieces.
