Beverly Naomi Slaughter

Beverly Naomi Slaughter, 58, of Owensboro passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Mrs. Slaughter was born February 16, 1959 in Owensboro to the late William Robert Owsley Sr. and Anita Jackson Owsley. Beverly graduated from OHS in 1978. She was employed at the Executive Inn and later at Packaging Unlimited. Beverly loved everyone and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining her family and friends and was loved by everyone. She was generous, fun, always smiling, and the joy of the party.

Mrs. Slaughter also was preceded in death by her brother, William R. Owsley Jr. in 2014.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 32 years, Dorsey Slaughter; daughter, Carlynda La-Sha Owsley and fiancé Tyree Pettigrew; two sons, Tilden Dorsey Owsley and Travis Valdez Owsley and fiancée Lexie Barr; three grandchildren, Nashiem, Shamond, and Ouintazjha Owsley; brothers, Richard Greenfield (Lou), George W. Greenfield, James W. Greenfield, and Myron B. Greenfield (Valerie); sisters, Audrey Henderson (George), Joyce Floyd (Jon), Gwendolyn Williams, and Willene Husk (Bob); brother-in-law, George Slaughter; sister-in-law, Rose Johnson (Archie); numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday January 23 at Zion Baptist Church, 2311 W. 9th Street Owensboro with Reverend Larry D. Lewis officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 until 8pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Tuesday after 11 am at Zion Baptist Church.
