Beverly J. Rhoades

Ms. Beverly J. Rhoades of Louisville, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on April 11th 2015 at Atria Springdale in Louisville. She was born on September 30, 1929 to Thomas McKinley and Annie Florine (Ward) Fike.
Beverly was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Owensboro, she taught at Owensboro High School for 30+ years, upon her retirement she was the Head of the Math Department. The Rhoades Mathematics' Scholarship for Owensboro High School is named in honor of Beverly and presented to a student who excels in Math each year at Owensboro High. Beverly attended UCLA and graduated from Brescia College in Owensboro, then went to receive her Master Degree from Western KY University. She also was a member of the Pilot Club of Owensboro.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, brother: Don Fike.
She leaves behind her daughter: Sharon (Jim) Rockhill of Louisville, grandsons: Jeff (Jaynie) Rockhill of Georgetown, IN. and Derek Rockhill of Lexington, great grandchildren: Clark, Iliana, and Oakley Rockhill of Georgetown, IN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday April 15, 2015 at 2:00 (cst) or 3:00pm (est) pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Mitch Donohue officiating with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm (cst) or 1:00pm (est). Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Humane Society or Hosparus of Louisville.
