Beverly Ann Hoerst McFelea, 93, peacefully crossed into heaven on April 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion that touched countless lives. Beverly lived an extraordinary life defined by kindness, strength, and a generous spirit. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, and her home was always a place of warmth and welcome. One of her greatest callings was as a foster mother, opening her heart and home to many children over the years. Her nurturing presence made a lasting difference in the lives of all who knew her.
She was a faithful member of Owensboro Christian Church, where she served quietly but faithfully behind the scenes. Beverly had a special heart for children and their spiritual growth. She implemented a Bible memorization project in which any child who learned to recite all the books of the Bible was awarded a Bible of their own—an effort that set many young lives on a pathway of faith and biblical understanding.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kathy Lee (Ray), and her son, Kenneth “Buddy” McFelea (Dana) both of Owensboro. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Jason Lee (Becca), Zach McFelea (Natalie), Rachael Roberts (Dave), Joshua McFelea (Saphire), and Matt Lee. Beverly was a devoted and loving great-grandmother to Gracie Roberts, Annie Kate Roberts, Zane McFelea, Zylie McFelea, Zeke McFelea, Zeta McFelea, Tobias McFelea, Thomas McFelea, Maverick Lee, Deacon Lee, and Ryder Lee, each of whom brought her great joy and pride.
A celebration of her life well lived will be held at Living Hope Community Church, 1709 Alexander Ave Owensboro, on April 18, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the service beginning at noon.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Living Hope Community Church, 1709 Alexander Ave Owensboro, KY 42303 to continue Beverly’s cherished tradition of placing a Bible in the hands of children who memorize the books of the Bible.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wellington Parc for their selfless and devoted care of Beverly. Special thanks to Barbara, Sue, Sandra, Robert, Andrew, Rosa, Lindsay, Robin, Ty, Briley, Brigit, Tonya, Krystal, Mark, Melba, Caitlyn, Nathan, and Dr. McCoy.
