Bettye S. Brigance

Bettye S. Brigance, 76, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Brigance was born June 7, 1942 in Ohio County to the late Frank and Birdie Neal James. Bettye was formerly employed at Beaver Dam Healthcare Manor. She loved shopping and going to flea markets as well as country music especially Charlie Pride. Bettye had a great sense of humor and was always teasing and joking around.

Mrs. Brigance was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray in 2012.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donita Brigance of Beaver Dam and Dana Michelle "Misty" Mayfield of Centertown; six grandchildren, Jay Smith, Donnie Brigance, John McCormick, Sarah Stout, Rhiannon Liben, and Jasmine Reed (Keegan); sister, Vanetta Hicks of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Bettye Brigance will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 12 at Small House Baptist Church in Centertown with Brother Rossi Stuart officiating. Burial will be in the Small House Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will also be Wednesday from 10:00 till 12:00 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 1:00 till 2:00 at the church.
