Betty Humphrey Whitehead, 77, of Owensboro, passed away June 21, 2013 at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville Hospital. Betty was born to the late Wilbur and Jane Humphrey of Livermore and was an avid sports fan, she attended every Kentucky Wesleyan College basketball game and cheered for the Saint Louis Cardinals. She worked in the concession stands of both Chautauqua Park and Thompson Berry Park for over 27 years and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Whitehead.
Survivors include her children, Lindy Whitehead and his wife Becky and Cindy Moss and her husband Michael all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jana and Kaylee Whitehead and Blake Moss all of Owensboro; step-grandchildren, Bert Moss of Owensboro and Olivia Cooke of Yuma, AZ; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Buchanan and her husband John; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, University of Louisville.
