Betty Jean Wilson Wheeler

June 1, 1932 — May 2, 2013

Betty Jean Wilson Wheeler, 80 of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at her home. She was a native of Ohio County, born to the late Arthur and Winnie (Cook) Wilson, and graduated from Horse Branch High School in 1950. Betty had worked for General Electric. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, quilting, reading, and UK basketball. She was a member of Third Baptist Church. Her husband, George Earl Wheeler preceded her in death in 2006 as well as a brother, Bud Wheeler.

Surviving is a daughter, Carol Ann Wheeler ( Marc McDowell) of Owensboro, a son, Dr. Dana S. Wheeler and wife, Vien of Shreveport, LA, grandchildren, Skyler and Sterling Shown, Daniel, Jacob and Aaron Wheeler, a sister, Sally Etter of TN, brothers, Bill (Dianne) Wilson and Mike (Sue) Wilson both of Ohio County, a sister-in-law, Faith Wheeler of California, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
