Betty Jean Gore Toor

Betty Jean Gore Toor, 80, of Masonville, KY went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born May 8, 1930 in Owensboro KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert O. Gore and Bodine Calhoun Gore; was a member of Masonville Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer of the Tabitha Sunday School Class for many years; and she was retired from Hancock Fabrics and had worked at Abbington's Bridal and the Frederick Cigar Factory. Ms. Toor enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Charles R. Hicks and a great-grandson, Blaine Jhase Tyler.

She is survived by her children, Harold (Midori) Toor of Honolulu, HI, Carol Wintner of Evansville, IN and Raymond "Gene" Toor (and companion, Jenny Hawley) of Calhoun, KY; grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Collins and Patrick Collins of Evansville, IN, Randy Toor (Kelly) of Okinawa, Japan, Brittany (Billy) Tyler of Owensboro, KY, and Brianna Hawley of Calhoun, KY; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 10 A.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Kimbrough Simmons officiating followed by burial in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011 and after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
