Betty Marksberry Shelton

Betty Marksberry Shelton, 72, of Owensboro, died Monday, November 13, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born January 6, 1934 to the late Harvey and Ella Horrell Marksberry, Sr. in Daviess County. She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church where she was active in the senior choir. She had worked for the Owensboro City School System in the transportation department, and enjoyed attending her grandchildrens soccer and baseball games.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Shelton in 1978.

Survivors include her sons, Bob Shelton and his wife, Robin of Owensboro, Tony Shelton and his wife, Reina of Anderson, IN; three grandchildren, Kyle, Shelby and Grace Shelton; her brothers, Gene Marksberry and his wife, Sarah of Utica, Harvey Marksberry, Jr. and his wife, Maryln of Russellville, Jack Marksberry and his wife, Joyce of Pleasant Ridge, Paul Marksberry and his wife, Leann of Morgantown; her sisters, Peggy Jeffers of Evansville, IN, Mildred Crowe of Owensboro and Rachel Kirtley and her husband, Roger of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
