Betty McAfee Pendleton

September 25, 1925 — November 14, 2011

Betty McAfee Pendleton, 86, of Owensboro, died Monday, November 14th, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Island, Kentucky to the late John Daniel McAfee and Willie Catherine (Berry) McAfee. She was married to William Trimble "Bill" Pendleton, Jr. until his death in 1982 and was also preceded in death by her sister Ellora Meyer of Dallas, Texas.
Betty was a registered nurse. She had worked for Dr. John Lovett, M.D. and the Daviess County Hospital. She was a member of the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School Class at Settle Memorial Methodist Church, an avid bridge player with her friends at the Owensboro Health Park, and a life long aquaciser through the YMCA.

Survivors include her daughters; Kay Akers of Jacksonville, Fla., Darlene Ryan (Joe) of Russellville, KY, and Marian Ritchie of Wynne, Arkansas; her very attentive sisters, Dortha Osborne and Ouida Pruden of Owensboro, KY; four grandsons, John Ryan of Indianapolis, IN, Josh (Jennifer) Ryan of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Akers of Jacksonville, Fla., and Will Ritchie of Wynne, Arkansas; two great-grandsons, Drew and Matt Ryan of Jacksonville, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 18th, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Darren Brandon will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Settle Memorial Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
