Betty Jane Pantle

Betty Jane Pantle, 83, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Daviess County native was born November 16, 1940, as one of six children to the late Junius Godfrey Pantle and Mary Lucille Burton Pantle. Jane was raised on a farm in Eastern Daviess County. She graduated from Daviess County High School, class of 1958, where she played in the band. She attended Kentucky Wesleyan College and received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and later she earned her master’s degree from Western Kentucky University. Jane taught third grade for twenty-eight years at Thruston Elementary School. When not educating her young students, Jane enjoyed gardening and raised beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables. She was an exceedingly kind and loving woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

 In addition to her parents, Jane also was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Burton Pantle. Those left to cherish her memory include her four siblings, Jimmie, Ernie, Ann, and Mary Lou Pantle along with numerous cousins. 

 The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 10 at Thruston United Methodist Church with same day visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
