Betty Schocke Morris

March 31, 1926 — January 17, 2014

Betty Schocke Morris died on Friday, January 17, 2014 from a stroke at the Heartford House after a brief stay. She was 87 years old and was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. C. E. and Gladys Schocke. She was born March 31, 1926 and was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, which she loved. During her time at Eaton Memorial, she was both a Sunday School teacher and for many years a choir member, which she also loved very much. She retired from General Electric after 42 years of service as a secretary. In her early years with G. E., she was a great "Ping Pong" player winning the ladies championship. An avid TV watcher, especially QVC and enjoyed having visitors. She was quick witted, fun loving, and generous to a fault. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eddie L. Morris in January 1996.

She is survived by her only brother, William C. Schocke and his wife Carolyn, of Owensboro. Also surviving are her niece, Dr. Barbara Schocke Thomas and her husband Chris of Huntsville, AL, her nephews, William D. Schocke and wife Ginger of New Albany, IN, Randall W. Schocke and wife Vallory of Bowling Green, and John C. Schocke and wife Stacey of Huntsville. Her niece and nephews were her pride and joy and she was very much involved in their lives. She also loved her great nieces and nephews, Amanda, Adam, Alex, Anna Beth, Caroline, Amy, and Lori.

The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Monday, January 20, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
