Betty Sue VanWinkle Miller, 84, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her home. She was one of twelve children of Dewey and Tillie VanWinkle. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church and a former member of St. John United Methodist Church. She served as secretary in both churches and Children's Sunday School Superintendent at St. John. Her home was always open to family and friends. To know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Lee Miller, a daughter, Judy Lynn Kimmell, and a son-in-law, Roy L. Boisvert. Six brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by four daughters, Phyllis Boisvert of Hillsborough, N.C., Susan Curry and husband Kelly of Naples, Florida, Joyce Culberson and husband Frank of Versailles, and Joni Duplantis and husband Jason of Owensboro, and son-in-law, Bing Kimmell of Owensboro. Also surviving are her brothers, Bill VanWinkle and Phillip VanWinkle, both of Owensboro, a sister, Patricia VanWinkle Fitzgerald of Elizabethtown, and a sister-in-law, Ann Miller Storer. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Justin Boisvert, Vanessa Boisvert, and Melinda Boisvert Keaton, all of North Carolina, Natalie Curry Rainey of Florida, and Leah Curry Clevinger of North Carolina, Samuel Culberson of Versailles, Kathleen Kimmell Mullikin of Georgia, Austin, Jacob, and Anna Kimmell, and Rebekah Duplantis, all of Owensboro, and two great grandsons, Gavin Keaton and Josiah Rainey.
Services are Saturday, December 19, at 2:00 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
