Betty Jane Melton, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2019 at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Betty was born May 14, 1945 in Deanfield, KY to the late Virgil and Mabel Payne Staples. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Betty is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bernard Melton; a son, David Melton (Penny); a daughter, Holly Hart (Michael); two sisters, Barbara Sanders (James) and Bonnie Izsak; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service for Betty Melton took place Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Whitesville with Father Pat Reynolds officiating.
Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
