Betty Jo Johnson "Mimi", 87, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William Gilbert and Josephine Cleophus Clark Ward. Betty Jo was a retired LPN. She enjoyed playing Bingo and had been a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church since 1960, where she was a very active member. Betty Jo has lived at the Carmel Home for the last seven years where she made many close friends, and NEVER missed daily mass and rosary.
More than anything else she dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Irving Johnson in 2005; grandson, Jason Clinton Terry; sisters, Lillian Ford and Christine Hardesty; and brothers, Robert Raymond Ward, William Franklin Ward and James Gerald Ward.
Betty Jo is survived by her daughters, Marsha Terry (Clint), Cindy Rightmyer, Sally Cravens (Marty), and Libby Griggs (Kirk); her sons, Wally Johnson (Julie), Tommy Johnson (Sherry), and Danny Johnson (Dawn); 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters, Connie Cart (Tony), and Dianne Howard.
The Funeral Mass will be 10 am Thursday July 6 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father Emmanuel Udoh officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 1 till 8 pm with prayers at 7 and Thursday 8:30 till 9:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
