Betty "Jane" Jarvis, 93, of Owensboro, passed away October 2, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born February 12, 1924 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Harold and Wanda Richardson. Jane married James "Jim" Jarvis on May 27, 1940 in Pontiac, MI. They moved to Central City shortly after and began raising a family. There, she became a licensed Practical Nurse, but changed careers in order to pursue a business career with her husband. They both became agents for Shelter Insurance Company and worked together for 40 years. Jane was gifted in other ways such as painting and sewing. Her gifts of choice were always thought out and meaningful simply because they were made by her. She always supported her children no matter the task they set out to accomplish. Jane's mindset was to work hard and dream big. She was a longtime member and supporter of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, James Richard Jarvis in 2000; son Richard Dean Jarvis in 1947; grandson Rick Keller in 2014 and son-in-law, Bob Keller in 2002.
She is survived by three children, Dr. Michael J. Jarvis (Dana); Brenda Lowry (David) and Karen Keller; grandchildren, Pat Jarvis (Jill), Eric Keller (Natalie), Brad Jarvis, Jake Lowry (Brittany), Matt Lowry (Mallory), Allison Jarvis, Erin Wegrzyn (Mike); and 11 great-grandchildren.
