Betty K. Hawk, 90, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Carmel Home. Mrs. Hawk was born February 20, 1928 in Daviess County to the late Lawrence and Agnes Clark Keller as one of nine children. Betty worked on the assembly line at GE and retired from there after 24 years. She loved quilting and was a charter member of the Owensboro Quilters Guild and her quilts won her many ribbons. Betty loved all kinds of crafts including ceramics and enjoyed cooking and family gatherings while she staying active with many things. She was an excellent card player and never lost her skills. Betty loved her family very much but was told by them that her favorite daughter was "Wendy" as in Wendy's hamburgers. Betty has been a resident of the Carmel Home for almost five years. The family would to express their sincere appreciation to the caring staff of the Carmel Home and her many friends there.
Mrs. Hawk was also preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Oliver Hawk in 2006; stepson, Jim Hawk; brothers, Emmett, Martin, Theodore, Bill, and Charlie Keller; sisters, Sue Wink, Louise Shelton, and Marge Hanson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Frances Moseley and husband Tommy of Owensboro, Marilyn Bickett and husband Mike of Philpot; son, Artie Craig also of Owensboro; stepsons, Terry Hawk, Ollie Hawk (Nancy), Mark Hawk (Beth); stepdaughter, Cindy Baron (Tom); seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be noon Tuesday, September 4 at Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 am till 11:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
