Betty Flener

Betty "Mamaw" Flener, 78, of Philpot, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home. She was born on January 13, 1936 in Logan Co., KY to the late Archie and Ruby Anderson Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Owensboro First United Baptist Church. Betty was a charter member of the Owensboro Evening Lions Club and had been a member of the Owensboro Area Quilters Guild for many years. She enjoyed quilting, reading, sewing, spending time with her family and had babysitted for many children over the years. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Hulie Edgar Flener on January 23, 2004 and a brother, Bobbie Davis on January 26, 1974.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Feltman and husband Michael of Knottsville, Vicki Girten and husband Willie and Lisa Flener, all of Owensboro, two sons, Bruce Flener and wife Rita of Knottsville and Steve Flener of Philpot, 12 grandchildren, Chris Flener, Christina (Rex) Hill, Jennifer Flener, Mandy (Matt) Lawson, Kyle (Wendi) Flener, Leslie (Chris) Newton, Brandon (Ashley) Johnson, Heather (Matt) Beatty, Brock (Cassie) Johnson, Jon Feltman, David Feltman, and Amber Haynes, 11 great grandchildren, Macy, Miles, Brayden, Bryce, Clayton, Garrett, Ally, Addie, Tanner, Ella, and John, three brothers, William (Deannie) Davis of Owensboro, Earl (Gail) Davis of Whitesville, and James Davis of Brownsville, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Davis of Owensboro.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 6, at Owensboro First United Baptist Church with Brother Bruce Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the church.
