Betty Jane Bell Delker

Betty Jane Bell Delker, 88, of Owensboro, KY, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Hermitage Nursing Home. Mrs. Delker was born in Owensboro, KY to the late James M. and Arline Gillison Bell, and was an active member at First Presbyterian Church where she had served as an Elder and in other leadership positions. She was a member of the Cotillion Club, the Home and Garden Club, served on the board of the YMCA during the construction of their present facility and was a former trustee and a trustee emeritus at Kentucky Wesleyan College. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Edward Delker, infant daughter, Jane Boyd Delker, brother, James M. Bell, Jr., and daughter-in-law Jane Delker.

Survivors include her sons, Jed Delker and his wife Ellen of Winter Park, FL, Bill Delker of Lexington, KY, and Tom Delker of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Alison McDonald of Carlsbad, CA. Sally Vecchiarelli of Winter Park, FL. Jessica Klein of Louisville, KY, Martin Delker of Lexington, KY, and Kathleen Ann Delker of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Henry and Jed McDonald, Lexy Vecchiarelli, and Connor and Carter Klein; and her sister, Patty Wahl of Owensboro, KY.

Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after noon Thursday. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
