Betty Ann Leet Decker

Betty Ann Leet Decker, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on, Friday, December 1, 2023, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  She was born August 23, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Deward A. and Irene Majors Leet.  Betty was retired as a school teacher after 30 years having taught in the Daviess County School System, Owensboro Public School System, and the McLean County School System.  She was of the Christian faith and had recently been attending Pleasant Valley Community Church.  Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and going on family trips to her happy place, to the beach in Florida.  She was a person who never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends.  She also enjoyed volunteering at Caregivers in the Mother’s Day Out Program, raising flowers, and meeting her friends for lunch.  Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wayne Decker on June 3, 2019.

Surviving are her children, Paul Allen Decker and wife Stacy Dukes Decker of Lexington, Kristen Ann (Decker) Baker and husband Tracy Baker of Owensboro, and Andrea Lyn Elizabeth (Decker) Cecil and husband Aaron Cecil of Knottsville; and seven grandchildren, Paine Allen Dukes Decker of Lexington, Madeline Elaine Southwood Decker of Lexington, Bailee Elizabeth Baker of Owensboro, Tanner Matthew Cecil of Knottsville, Blake Ellis Baker of Owensboro, Hayden Wilson Bates Decker of Lexington, and Lanee Elizabeth Cecil of Knottsville.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, December 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be 11 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
