Betty Catherine Wilson Daugherty

Betty Catherine Wilson Daugherty, 80, of Owensboro passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. She was born in Stanley on December 10, 1944, to the late Gilbert Wilson and Martine Young Wilson. While Betty was a 1963 graduate of Daviess County High School, she loved both Daviess County and Apollo High School sports. Betty was employed at Fast Fuel (Marvin’s Market) and retired from Canteen in 2005 where she was in charge of the cafeteria at Unifirst. She loved playing the lottery and spending time with her family and friends. Betty was an avid fan of UK basketball and a devoted member of Spottsville United Methodist Church. 

 In addition to her parents, Betty also was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Saalwaechter; brothers, Jerry Wilson and Gilbert Wilson Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Faith Daugherty. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Avery “Glenn” Daugherty; two sons, Glenn Paul (Lisa) Daugherty of Whitesville and Clayton Neal (Nichole) Daugherty of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Brittany Catherine (Michael) Gilmore, Hayley Dawn (Wesley) Osborne, Andrew Clayton Daugherty, and Elizabeth Paige Daugherty; five great grandchildren, Jack Gilmore, Warren Gilmore, Annie Catherine Gilmore, Gatlin Osborne, and Griffin Osborne; brother, Paul J. (Sherry) Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace at Rosehill Cemetery.
