Betty Bennett Coomes

Betty Bennett Coomes, 90, of Owensboro, KY, died Friday, January 30, 2009, in Asheville, NC. Mrs. Coomes was a Linen and Domestic Department buyer for S.W. Anderson's; a long- time volunteer at Owensboro Mercy Health System; and a member of First Baptist Church and the Service Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Anthony (Tony) Coomes in 1990.

Survivors include her daughter Charlotte Lewis and her husband Mike of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Laura Lewis Byrd, Joshua Lewis, Nell Lewis and Hannah Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Connor Byrd, Grace Byrd, Andrew Lewis, and Claire Lewis, and niece Betty Bennett Monsour of Rocky River, OH.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
