Betty Reynolds Connor

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, we announce the loss of a vivacious soul who left this world at the young age she was famously known for "39 years old and holding." Betty Reynolds Connor, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with her daughter by her side.

Betty Jean Reynolds was born in Pasadena, California, on July 24 to the late David Edward Reynolds & Dorothy E. Martin Reynolds. She spent the majority of her life residing in Owensboro, Kentucky, and proudly graduated from Owensboro Senior High School. Her educational path took her to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she not only graduated but also left a lasting impression by teaching for three years in the Fashion Department. She played a pioneering role in introducing the modeling program to that department. Over a span of six decades, she held a dual role as an employee and part-owner at S.W. Anderson Department Store.

She was an active Settle Memorial United Methodist Church member and was dedicated to the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School Class. Betty's extensive consulting experience spanned various organizations, including the Women's Air Force in San Antonio, Texas; the Girls' 4-H Club in Owensboro, Kentucky; the State Girls' 4-H Club in Ames, Iowa; the Girls' 4-H Club in Columbia, Missouri; and Loretta College for Women in Denver, Colorado. She also contributed as a substitute teacher within the Owensboro and Daviess County School Systems for numerous years.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Betty knew she was a larger-than-life presence. Her style and charisma could effortlessly fill any room, and her infectious laughter had the power to captivate everyone within it. She will be forever missed and cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband and lifelong companion of 54 years, Jack Alden Connor. After nearly 19 years apart, they are now reunited for eternity.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Christine Connor Pruden (Tom, who precedes her) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her granddaughter, Nikki Lee Jones (Dustin) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Ryker Jones.

The funeral for Betty will be at 2 pm Friday, December 15, 2023, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00. Entombment will follow in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
