Betty Jean Talley Burns

Betty Jean Talley Burns, 76, of 1901 Village Run, Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at her home. She was born in Davies County to the late Sam and Myrtle (McFadden) Talley. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Bernard Burns preceded her in death in 2000.

Surviving are her children; Bernard Dale (Judy) Burns of Hartford, Steven Grant (Tum) Burns of Pearl City, Hawaii, Roger Anderson (Pam) Burns of Poland, OH., and Kimberly Jean (Joe) Williamson of Philpot, eight grandchildren: Tom, Carissa, Caryn, Nick, Brad, Sarah, Angela and Michael, and six great-grandchildren, a special niece; Wanda Waltz of Bartow, FL., and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Benton officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
