Betty Sue (Severs) Addington, 75, of Owensboro died Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Heartford House, while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. A Stanley native, she was born June 11, 1950 in Daviess County to the late James Marion and Rachel (Corley) Severs. Betty is a 1968 graduate from Owensboro Catholic High School and was a Veterinary Assistant and Hospital Manager at the Kentuckiana Animal Clinic from 1986 – 2012.
Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lynn Reed Addington, two sons, Brian Lynn (Melanie) Addington of Shelbyville and Todd Alan (Beth) Addington of Lexington, a daughter, Allison Jill (Phillip) Marksberry of Newburgh, IN. She is also survived by a sister, Anna Jean (Bill) St. Pierre of Villa Hills. She has six grandchildren, Caitryn Addington and Rebecca (Logan) Fuqua and grandsons Joshua Marksberry, Nathan Marksberry, Nicholas Marksberry and Aidan Addington and three great grandchildren, River Marksberry, Billie Grace Fuqua, and Lainey Mae Fuqua ; nieces Laura Stevens, Jamie Stanley, Alexis Statts and nephew Matthew St Pierre.
Her greatest love of life was her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and cherished her love of God and the many blessings she received.
We want to thank the nurses and staff at the Heartford House, especially Nurse Sarah and Alicia, for all the love and compassionate care they gave her and our neighbors and friends.
Funeral services for Betty will be 10 AM Tuesday, April14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 PM until 7 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
