Bette Joy Denton

Bette Joy Ranson Denton, 88, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was born November 16, 1927 in Owensboro, KY to Mary & Will Ranson.

Bette was a graduate of West Louisville High School. She was a member of Gideons Auxillary and Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, which she joined in 1949. Bette enjoyed her family, friends, pets, and her lovely home of sixty two years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Zollie Parker Denton Jr. (Bill) on July 4th, 2014.

Bette is survived by her three children, Pamela Joy Crabtree (Jerry) of Owensboro, Jan Parker Casale (Tony) of New York City and Marcus Steven Denton (Katy) of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Whitt, Jerry Crabtree, Jr., Sherry Rickard, Jennifer Anne Casale, Elizabeth Miller Casale, Allison Rose Casale, Delaney Catherine Denton, and Drewry Parker Denton; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, December 12 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. Dennis McFadden will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3 until 7 PM and Saturday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
