Bertha May Roehm Talbott

Bertha May Roehm Talbott, 81, of Philpot passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born April 15, 1928 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late James Stonewall and Peachie Ellen Bailey Roehm; was a member of the First General Baptist Church where she was a servant of the Lord; and was retired from G.E. where she was group leader for design and development and was chief union steward. Bertha loved gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fields Talbott, Sr.; brothers, Bennett Roehm and Alphonso Roehm; and sisters, Clara Allgood and Lucille Spurrier.

Surviving are her children, William Fields Talbott, Jr. of Oden, IN, Lorinda (Jim/Bob) Penny of Owensboro, and Beverly L. Talbott of Philpot; grandchildren, Bill Talbott, III, Rob Penny, Jonathen Talbott, Melody Fender, and Jamia Campbell; great-grandchildren, Kaelynn Talbott, Bree Campbell, and Brock Campbell; a sister, Louella Williams of Madisonville; a sister-in-law, Irma Roehm of Owensboro; special cousins, Faye Mills, Kirk Bailey and Betty Dirk who were like brothers and sisters to her.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ora Johnson officiating followed by burial in Providence UMC Cemetery in Philpot. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 12 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
