Berniece Gibson Harley

Berniece Gibson Harley, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, September 4, 2007. She was born in Henderson County October 12, 1931, to Julius and Mabel (Gish) Gibson who preceded her in death.

She devoted her life to her husband and family, raising five children. She spent 23 years as a Navy wife in Louisiana, Texas and California. She worked at the Owensboro Daviess County Hospital after her children were grown and retired from there.

Her husband of 51 years, Delmon E. Harley, Sr. (United States Navy, Retired) passed away July 20, 2003. She is survived by her five children, Delmon (Darlene) Harley, Jr., of Owensboro, Darrell (Sheryl) Harley of Utica, James (Connie) Harley of Owensboro, John (Phyllis) Harley, Sr. of Owensboro and Elaine Harley of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Emily (Jason) Reid of Alabaster, Alabama, Sara (Branden) Burns of Owensboro, Melissa Harley of Owensboro, Karen (David) Mahoney of Owensboro, Audra Harley of Owensboro, John Harley Jr. of Owensboro, Austin Harley of San Diego, California and Brynna Harley of Owensboro; her great grandchildren, Conor, Michaela, Kobe, Bryson, Kaden, Ariana and Corinthia; her sister Joyce (Charles) King; her brothers, Larry (Frankie) Gibson and Jerry (Pam) Gibson, all of Henderson; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

She was a member of the Owensboro Church of Christ, Hwy 60 East, and previously a long time member of the Parrish Avenue Church of Christ.
