Bernice Dixon Redmon, 102, of Owensboro passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Hermitage Health Care. Born in Hart County on July 21, 1909, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Sally Allen Dixon; was a graduate of Munfordville High School and attended business school; and retired from the Baptist Bookstore in 1971 after 15 years of service. Mrs. Redmon was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church where she served as the church librarian for 41 years and taught training union, Sunday school and the Girl's Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Powell Redmon ; a son, Hugh David Redmon; a brother, Marvin Dixon; and a sister, Elizabeth Harrod.
Surviving are grandchildren, Hugh Allen Redmon of Amelia, OH and Robin Lynn Redmon of Sidney, OH; her daughter-in-law, Wilda Fulkerson Redmon of Sidney, OH; and great-grandchildren, Gregory Allen Redmon of Piqua, OH, Kyle Nicole Redmon of Oregon, OH,, and Nicholas Allen Redmon of Amelia, OH.
Service are 12 noon Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
