Bernice Carden Davis

Bernice Carden Davis, 93, of Owensboro passed away Friday, March 29, 2013. Born in Daviess County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Elbert M. and Frances Turner Carden. Mrs. Davis retired from Wetzel's Supermarket having been with the store for more than 30 years and was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She was an exceptional cook and gardener. Preceding her in death were her husband, William Alton Davis, who passed away in 2007; her sisters, Mabel Bruner and Lena Carden; and her brothers, Joseph Carden, Goldman H. Carden, and Buford Carden.

Mrs. Davis is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Rev. Dale Carden of Madisonville, Barry Carden of Owensboro, and Dwight Carden of St. Louis.

The funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
