Bernard Francis "Bernie" Wink, 56, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at his home. He was born on September 21, 1957, the 12th child born to the late Edward Eugene "Ted" and Susan Frances Greenwell Wink, Sr. He was a mason working for Boarman Bros. Masonry and was of the Catholic faith. He really loved his work and was very much a perfectionist. He graduated from Apollo High School in 1976 and enjoyed camping and fishing at Diamond Lake. He was quite a jokester and had been mentioned by Paul Harvey on his radio show about his Martian antics he used to participate in. He will be missed very much by his family. Bernie was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Paul Wink.
Surviving are three brothers, Gene (Pauline) Wink of Utica, Tony Wink of Mississippi, and Richard (Carolyn) Wink of Owensboro, seven sisters, Martha (David) Lashbrook of Masonville, Julia Rynerson of Franklin, IN, Rose Wink of Owensboro, Susan (Mike) Smith of Hardinsburg, Mary Alice Stratman of Newburgh, IN, Carol (James) Smith of Owensboro, and Annette (Mike) Stiff of Maceo, Aunts, Betty Greenwell, Ann Wink, and Helen Greenwell, all of Daviess Co., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in St. Anthony Cemetery at Browns Valley. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
