Bernard Marnell Thomas

Bernard Marnell Thomas, 81, of Owensboro passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County, a son of the late Joseph Robert and Edna Marie Tong Thomas, he was a farmer and a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 215. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. His passion was growing tomatoes, having set out more than 90 plants in the last two weeks. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Ernestene Thomas on August 19, 2011.

Survivors include his son, Herman J. (Jeanie) Thomas of Lexington; his daughter, Marna Thomas (David) Troutman, of Owensboro; his grandchildren Kyle Barrett Thomas of Lexington, Tena Beth (Ben) Martin of Owensboro, David Thomas (Andi) Troutman of Bowling Green; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Davis Troutman and Ali Marie Troutman, both of Bowling Green, and his sister Sue Thomas (Joe) Riney of Owensboro.

A graveside service for Mr. Thomas will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
