Bernard Lee Marks

Bernard Lee Marks, 86, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. He was born in Salem, West Virginia to the late Wilson and Opal Stickel Marks.

As a young man, Bernard served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a press operator at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV for several years before moving to the Owensboro area where his thirty-three years of service at National Southwire Aluminum included the role of a foreman. Mr. Marks was of the Baptist faith. 

He enjoyed golf, NASCAR Racing, home repairs, taking his classic corvette to car shows, wintering in Florida and spending quality time with family, especially his grandchildren’s ballgames.

Mr. Marks was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Darlene Hope Marks in 2019.

He is survived by a daughter, Crystal Richardson (Michael Kevin) of Madison, Alabama; son, Ben Marks (Becky) of Owensboro; grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Marks, II (Katie), Justin Marks (Jamie) and Alex Marks (Sarah), Colin Richardson (Rachel) and Ashley Richardson; great-grandchildren, Landon, Levi and Luke Marks, Benjamin Lee Marks, III, Jacob Marks, Colton, Audrey and Ava Richardson and Mason and Josie Marks; siblings, Regina Famiglietti, Ronnie and Leo Marks, Juanita Wood and Joanne Marks; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 27, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
