Bernard J. Fischer, 62, of 3544 Jefferson St., Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky., and was employed by Professional Maintenance of Kentuckiana, Inc. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, enjoyed Nascar racing, and U.K. basketball. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Fischer.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Judy Clark Fischer, a son, Jeff Fischer of Evansville, In., 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Christine (Chris) & Mark Castlen of Owensboro, and Mark & Donna Wilson Kassinger of Livia, his mother, Audrey Payne Fischer of Owensboro, a brother, Sylvestor Fischer of Owensboro, 7 sisters, Barbara Ann Stallings, Sister Helena Fischer, Jean Blandford, Martha Long, Rose Hodgkins, and Janie Howard, all of Owensboro, and Pauline Wink of Utica, 10 grandchildren, Adam, Haley, & Clint Wilson, Chris, Anthony, & Neil Kassinger, Travis, Courtney, Katie, & Jill Castlen.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers at 6:00 P.M. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bernard J. Fischer Memorial Fund, c/o Chris Castlen, 2516 Lawrin Ct., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
