Bernard Joseph Clark

Mr. Bernard Joseph Clark of Owensboro, died Monday, October 21, 2002 at his home. He was born December 11, 1914, in Daviess County, the son of the late Charles H. and Martha Bowlds Clark. A son, Billy Clark, preceded him in death in January 2000.

Mr. Clark was an oil field worker who later retired from Murphy Miller Furniture Company after 23 years. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, and an army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy G. Clark; two sons, Bobby Clark and Jimmy Clark, both of Owensboro; four daughters, Betty Jo Payne, Martha Faye Hayden, Judy Fischer, and Janice Goins, all of Owensboro; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters; Hattie Mae Kula, of Owensboro, and Gertrude Shepherd of Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, officiated by Father Eric Riley. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Browns Valley. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday. Prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
