Benjamin "Ben" Thomas Gardner

Benjamin “Ben” Thomas Gardner, 47, of Owensboro passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Louisville native was born February 8, 1979, to MaryAnne Beard Gardner and the late Cyril Thomas Gardner. Ben graduated from Daviess Co. High School (class of 1997) where he played baritone in the band. Ben enjoyed building and flying remote-controlled planes and working on cars. After watching his kids play hockey, he decided to join a men’s hockey league himself. Ben learned computer programming and would work from home as he cared for his youngest son, Mason. He loved all of his kids and enjoyed spending time with them. Ben was a selfless person who was always helping others.

Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted companion for sixteen years, Kristy Murphy; his three children, Brandon, Lydia, and Mason Gardner and Kristy’s daughter, Abby Murphy; his mother, MaryAnne Gardner; his sister.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, October 10 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
