Ben Coakley Taylor, 35, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born May 24, 1976 in Owensboro, Ben was a 1994 graduate of Daviess County High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a Research Analyst, was of the Catholic faith, and enjoyed fishing, UK basketball, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by grandparents, James a Taylor, Sr. , Lola Louise Taylor, and Frank Duigguid Coakley; and an uncle, Stuart Coakley.
Surviving are his mother, Clara Lee Coakley Taylor of Owensboro; his father and step-mother, James A. Taylor, Jr and Mary A. Green. of Owensboro; a sister, Heather Lee of Utica; a beloved bother-in-law, Jamie Lee of Utica; a step-sister, Linda Ogle of Owensboro; a grandmother, Kevin Coakley of Owensboro; aunts and uncles, Tonya Lea Schaick of Indianapolis, Robert L. and Dorothy Coakley of Elizabethtown; cousins, Emily Kelly and Matt Schaick, Becky Coakley of London, KY, Sarah Beth Lewis of Louisville, Bob Coakley, Jr. of Elizabethtown, Edwin C. and Rosemary Johnson of Hunting Beach, CA, Stephen Johnson, David Johnson, Michael Johnson, Cathy Johnson, Karen Hawkins of Lexington; nephews, Hunter Lee, Harrison Lee, Parker Ogle, and Garrett Ogle all of Owensboro; and a many, many friends.
A celebration of Ben's life will be 12 to 5p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Creamtory.
