Ben McGill

Ben McGill, 89, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was born December 12, 1928 to the late Benjamin and Eugenia McGill. Ben was a 1947 graduate of Owensboro High School where he lettered in baseball, football, and basketball. Ben was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a U.S. Army Sergeant receiving two Bronze Stars. He worked for the United States Postal Service of Owensboro for over 30 years. Ben enjoyed antiques and golfing. His passion for golf included his journeys to attend The Master's Tournament at Augusta National.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bettie Jo "Sparky" McGill of Owensboro; his son, Jeff McGill (Molly) of Bowling Green; his granddaughters, Maggie McGill, of Nashville, Jennifer (Larry) Dotson; his grandson, Matt McGill (Amy); his great granddaughters, Vivienne Kate and Susanna McGill; his great grandsons, Wick and Embree Dotson all of Bowling Green
The celebration of life will take place 2-5PM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Windridge Country Club. Memorial contributions can be made to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund.
