Ben Edward Crump

Ben Edward Crump, 93, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2015. Mr. Crump was born in Owensboro on September 28, 1921 to the late Elijah and Ida Feldman Crump. Ben served in the Army during WWII and took part in the D-Day invasion at Normandy. He then went on to work at General Electric as a supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and with his free time enjoyed carpentry.

Mr. Crump in preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Thelma Grace Crump who recently passed on January 9, 2015; and son, Dwayne Crump.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen Payne (Mike) and Sally Jackson (Eddie), both of Owensboro, and son Father Mike Crump of Robstown TX; grandchildren Stacy Duke, Jason Duke, Adam Duke, Allison Crump, Brian Crump, Nicholas "Nick" Jackson, and Nathan Jackson, and 8 great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass for Mr. Crump will be 10 am Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 until 8pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers said at 7 pm. Visitation will begin 9 am Thursday at the Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
