Beatrice Ketron Duckwall

Beatrice Ketron Duckwall, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at her home. She was born on April 4, 1923 in Richmond, IN to the late Arch Davis and Mary Catherine Stowe Ketron. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church where she had been active in the choir. She had been a member of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra where she had played the violin, had been involved in the Saturday Musicale Club, and also played in the orchestra for the Messiah. Beatrice had been involved with the Community Concert Series and with the Theater Workshop of Owensboro. During World War II, she worked at the Aeronca Aircraft Co. in Middletown, OH. She had attended Kentucky Wesleyan College where she majored in music and was an avid Book Bridge Club player. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard W. Duckwall on June 4, 2005 and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Law Duckwall on August 29, 2007.

Surviving are her son, David Mark Duckwall of Hartford and her daughter, Karen Elaine Duckwall, M.D. and husband Robert Tobin of Bedford, KY, three grandchildren, David M. Duckwall and wife Melanie and Alana Duckwall Troutman and husband Marvin Keith, all of Owensboro, and Casey Duckwall of Nashville, TN, four great grandchildren, Houston, Jenna Kate, and Karly Jo Duckwall, and Lexy Troutman, two sisters, Ruby Sixt and Audrey Leber, and five brothers, Ralph, Von, Ronald, Wayne, and Glen Ketron.

Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, June 30, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
