Basil Ed Foulke, 88, of 5334 Kentucky Highway 144 Owensboro, Kentucky died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Evelyn Foulke on April 12, 1975 , and a son, James Foulke on October 1, 2003. Mr. Foulke was a member of Thruston United Methodist Church, the Ensor Lodge 729 F & AM, and the Order of the Eastern Star at Ensor. He retired from WR Grace in 1978 and had previously worked for Sure Gas Company in Owensboro for 12 years. He loved to work with wood and build furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Monia Foulke; two daughters, Barbara and her husband Bruce Glover of Hawesville and Janice Hall of Antioch, TN; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Foulke of Philpot; two step-sons, Gary Hart and Johnny Hart both of Owensboro; a step-daughter, Tammy Froehlich of Lewisport; eight grandchildren, Kristie (and Steve) Hayden of Philpot, Eric (and Dannette) Foulke of Paducah, Diana Glover of Owensboro, Larry Glover of Lexington, Jennifer (and Kyle) Burchard of Austin, TX, Kenneth (and Brenda) Hall of Louisville, Stephanie (and Keith) Bain of Franklin, TN, and Ginger (and Jeff) Sims of Decatur, AL; 11 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 10 from 4-8 P.M. and after 10 A.M. on Friday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
