Barry Newton, 46, of 2320 Bluff Ave., Owensboro, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007 at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was the owner and operator of Newtons Tool Service. He was of the Baptist faith and was a very family oriented person loving spending time with his children and grandchildren and having family cookouts. He loved listening to music, writing songs, and performing. He had played at one time with a group called No Clue. He also loved baseball, having played and coached youth teams at Philpot Playground, motorsports, and collecting sports memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his father, William Paul Newton on July 11, 2000 and a nephew, Bryce Newton on October 4, 1989.
Surviving are his two children, Tonya Newton and Brandon Newton, both of Owensboro, his mother, Margaret Vonceile Newton of Philpot, his brother, Mark Newton and wife Carla of Owensboro, his sister, Linda Scholtens and husband Rich of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Savannah Rae and Kaden, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12:00 P.M. Noon Friday, November 23, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Maddy officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
