Barry Dennis Mattingly

Barry "Dennis" Mattingly, 58, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at his home. He was born in Owensboro to the late Alfred (Sr.) and Commie Carter Mattingly.
Dennis was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was part owner of Acme Plumbing and Heating.
Dennis was an excellent cook who was a regular at the local farmer's market. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Garry David Mattingly.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maria Ackerman Mattingly; children, Jaime Mongold (Chad), Jackie Osowicz (Jordan) and Jennifer Mattingly; grandchildren, Landon and Logan Mongold (twins), Stella and Henry Osowicz, all of Owensboro; brothers, Alfred, Jr. (Judy) Mattingly, Mark Mattingly, Darren Mattingly, all of Owensboro; sisters, Linda (Nick) Mason of Powder Springs, GA, Connie M. (Tom) Brown of Owensboro, Mary Susan Mattingly of Louisville, Lisa (Ron) Lanham of Owensboro , Terry L. Mattingly of Owensboro, Joni L (Paul) Arcuri of Hollywood, FL, and Sherry Mattingly of Owensboro; many nieces and nephews; in-laws, Ken and Charlene Ackerman; brothers-in-law, Kenny (Beth) Ackerman, Jimmy (Christa) Ackerman and Paul (Tanya) Ackerman.
The funeral mass will be 10 AM, Saturday, June 27 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Fr. Pat Reynolds and Fr. Brad Whistle will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 PM and on Saturday after 8:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
