Barbara J. Yorns

Barbara J (McDaniel) Yorns, 70, of Owensboro, passed away after a brief illness on October 16, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Lewisport to the late Albert and Frances (Nugent) McDaniel.

Barbara was employed at Kentron for more than 40 years where she was a die maker and also served as the financial secretary for the union. She was a longtime member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, the Eagles, Elks, F.O.P. and several charitable organizations. She was also an honorary member of AMVETS Post #119.
Barbara was an accomplished crafter who enjoyed arranging flowers and volunteered her skills to many organizations.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Edward Emil Yorns in 2002.

She is survived by daughters, Angela Marino of Caledon East, Canada, Rhonda Walker of Houston, TX, Connie Bush of St. Mary's, PA; sons, Joseph Yorns of Owensboro and Jeff Yorns of Land O'Lakes, FL; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; children, Robin, Rebecca and Russell Wilson; close friend and companion, Roger Kirtley.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 20 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Dr. Glenn Sowards will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery at a later date.
