Barbara Ann Burns Underwood

Barbara Ann Burns Underwood, 78, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. Born in Daviess County on September 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Terrance William (T.W.) and Attie Belle Jackson Burns; was a homemaker; and was a member of the Christ Community Church. Mrs. Underwood had worked briefly at Green River Steel. She enjoyed gardening, her pets, but most importantly, caring for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jack Underwood in 1994 and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Mish Pulliam.

Surviving are her children, Becky Burns of Nashville and Brenda Thomas, Steve (Tammy) Underwood, Jackie (Steve) Bain, Kathy (Rick) Wells all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Barry Foster, Shannon Mollerberg, Scott Underwood, Cody Underwood, Shelby Underwood, and Hannah Wells; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill (Myrna) Burns of Wichita, KS, Joy (Dick) Faullin of Denton, TX, and Ruthie (Bob) Combs of Denver, CO.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at Christ Community Church, 1220 Center St., Owensboro with Myke Templeton officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation Monday.
