Barbara Richardson

Barbara G. Richardson, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Daviess County to the late William and Ethel Puryear Goode.

Barbara taught school for more than thirty years. Most of her career was spent at Calhoun Elementary School. She was an active member at both Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian and Pleasant Hope General Baptist churches where she taught Sunday school and volunteered with the youth. Barbara enjoyed square dancing, cards, dominoes, cooking and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Mickey Goode.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Joe Richardson; a daughter, Teresa Decker and her husband Rick; a son, Tom Richardson and his wife Bridget; grandchildren, Jeb and Raegan Richardson; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Dash Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday, February 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM and Thursday after 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
