Barbara D. Phillips

Barbara D. Phillips, 78, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 15, 1948, in Clinton, Indiana.

Barbara worked most of her life at and retired from the Daviess County Hospital kitchen doing food prep. She married Grover Phillips on June 4, 1986, and he preceded her in death. She spent much of her time at home watching criminal investigative shows (especially NCIS) on TV with her two Chihuahua “children” Bud and Brownie. Barbara enjoyed her large extended family. She did not use the term “step” when talking about the children.

Along with her husband Grover, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Chloe Blanchard; a daughter, Janet Phillips; and son, Lucian Phillips (Becky).

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Teresa Moore (James), Patricia Kennedy, and Kim Bowlds (Larry); sons, Johnny Phillips, and Michael Phillips (Helen); brothers, Bill Brasher, John Brasher, Jim Brasher, and Ed Brasher; as well as 16 grandchildren and an extensive number of great and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Barbara D. Phillips will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with Bro. Jim Bob Allen officiating. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory
