Barbara Moore

Barbara Ann Lamar Moore "MiMi" was born Aug. 4, 1933 in Hancock County, Ky., to the late Richard C. and Beulah I. Lamar and went to be with Jesus on Dec. 16, 2015. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church.
Barbara lived a life of love and service, giving her time and energy to her church, the Help Office of Owensboro and others. She was a woman of faith and a child of God. Her life was a reflection of her love for God in her unselfish service to those around her. She worked in various retail jobs as a Head Start teacher, a preschool teacher, a nurse's aide and alongside her husband in insurance. Barbara was a gifted seamstress, crafter and candy maker. Most of all, she loved her family and was always there when needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leamon "Joe" Moore, her sister, Iantha, and brother, Richard Jr.
She is survived by her five children: Vicki (Gary) Fort, Sandra (Brent) Waltrip, Greg (Melissa) Schwallie, Christel (Lanny) Harper and Richard Schwallie; her ten grandchildren: Laura (William) Castleberry, Ryan (Taylor) Fort, Luke (Amie) Waltrip, Calli Waltrip, Rebekah (Jonathan) Tanner, Sarah Schwallie, Carissa (Ron) Obney, LeAndra (Juston) Holder, Erika Harper and Leah Schwallie; by five great-grandchildren: Aiden and Jack Castleberry, Morgan and Mason Obney and Benjamin Tanner; and by her sisters, Aileen Adkins and Eloise Edwards, and her brother, Terry Lamar.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 9-12 A service will follow at Glenn's beginning at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Heartford House, American Diabetes Association or the Help Office of Owensboro.
